Bio


Travis Demers is the radio play by play announcer for the Portland Trail Blazers of the NBA.  Demers also co-hosts 'The Rip City Drive' Weekdays 3-6 pm pacific on the home of the Trail Blazers, Rip City Radio in Portland, Oregon and NBC Sports Northwest. 





Demers spent the 2018-19 NBA season as the fill in radio play by play announcer for the Trail Blazers, calling 41 regular season games, 11 playoff games, and 5 preseason games.  This included all 7 games of the Western Conference Semifinals vs Denver, and the 4 game Western Conference Final series vs Golden State.

Before moving to Rip City Radio in 2015, Demers was a host, update anchor and play by play announcer at KFXX-AM in Portland for 10 years between 2003-20014. Travis has also done television play by play for the University of Portland, as well as radio play by play for the Hillsboro Hops, and the OSAA Radio Network.

Prior to returning to Portland in June of 2012, he spent a year and a half as a host for SiriusXM College Sports Nation and anchored sports updates on the SiriusXM Sports platform. He has also hosted 'Trail Blazers Pulse', a social media interactive post-game show following Portland Trail Blazers broadcasts on Comcast SportsNet Northwest.  He has covered the Portland Trail Blazers, Oregon Ducks, and Oregon State Beavers for 16 seasons, has called Portland area high school sports play by play action on radio and television for over a decade.  Showing his versatility, he has also called horse racing at Portland Meadows.

Travis graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in communications with a specialization in broadcasting from the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University (Now LIU-Post) in May of 2003.  He grew up in Westchester County, New York, and currently resides in Sherwood, Oregon with his wife Hannah and son Lincoln, born in 2018.  Demers spent three years (2013-15) coaching baseball at Aloha High School as the JV Head Coach in 2015, and plans on returning to coaching when his schedule allows.He is also very active in the community.  He enjoys golf, other recreational sports, movies, and any music he can play the air drums to.
